TEHRAN, May 23--A senior Oil Ministry official said here on Tuesday that the two-tier gasoline scheme has been drawn up and submitted to the government for approval. The Oil Ministry has put forward a number of proposals on fuel rationing and it is up to the government to pick one of them. Funds approved by the Parliament for gasoline imports will be enough for maximum six months. “After that, fuel will need to be rationed,“ he said. The official further said that domestically-produced gasoline will be offered at current prices, while imported fuel will be sold at far higher rates.
